What are the pros and cons of owning a Chromebook?

My HP laptop is on its way out and my brother suggested that I purchase a Chromebook because I can get a decent one for $200-$300. I already use Google apps and love them so I'm intrigued and it sounds good. My initial understanding is that I can't use iTunes for my iPod, but it sounds like there is a way to still put my music from iTunes into the Google Music library and then be able to use the iPod that way? Is that correct?

Can the Chromebook be used when I don't have an internet connection to write letters and such?

Chromebooks are incredibly simple to use and maintain. They don't come with all the bells and whistles that a windows or mac machine would. If you don't need all the extra stuff and processing power. I would recommend one.

Being a Chromebook user, here are some of the thoughts I'd like to share with you. Pros: -Cheap (No high-end hardware required) -Lightweight (Easy for students and other professionals to carry them on daily basis) -Made for users who spent most of their time online -Security (Yes, I consider this is one of the important factor) -Buying a Chromebook also gives you 2 years of access to 100 GB of Google Drive storage. -Extensive library of Android apps -Like a tablet or smartphone, Chromebook also check for regular updates which is a plus point. Cons -Small storage capacity -Require internet connection most of the time to access and use apps. Most of the apps are hosted online and there is no offline permission. However, there are some flexibilities like, apps such as Google Docs and Gmail can save local versions on the cache of your Chromebook, which then sync to their cloud-based counterparts as soon as an Internet connection becomes available. -Chromebooks are not designed to have powerful graphics processors, so any sort of high-end gaming is out of the question. -If you do graphics design and use Adobe apps, a Chromebook is not designed for you. Hope it helps. If you've any other question, feel free to ask in the community and I'll try to answer as soon as possible.
