Screen Flashing and or stating critical update

Is anyone seeing issues with the new Dell 3100 model where the screen flashes and sometimes says there is a critical update. The issue is either the flashing, flashing with the critical update message or the critical update message.

We have been trying to figure this one out and are starting to see more and more devices have these issues.

So far we have found that it is 1 of 4 things, It needs USB powerwashed with a recovery drive on 77, the daughter board is bad, or the daughter board has to be removed then the device is updated and it is placed back in, or the powerwash needs to be done when the battery is unplugged.

I saw this happen with a few 3100s in our district 3 weeks into school. I did a factory reset and the issue never came back. Luckily it wasn't the entire fleet of the new chromebooks. At least I wasn't the only experiencing this issue.

We have this happening in our district as well.  It will not let you do a powerwash.  You have to use the usb recovery tool and then once it does that you ave to powerwash it.  Any ideas?
