heating while charging

i have a school issued dell Chromebook 5190 and the charger cable is bent outta shape but still charges the problem is is that it starts to get hot and it worries me as the last 5190 i had didn't do that is it the battery or is it something else i don't wanna pay for a repair for my Chromebook please help me also my school forced the sleep when lid close but my other 5190 has that setting and never heated up it gets dangerously hot like the battery could burn out

you should change the battery and try charging the device from any other charger. may be it helps you

the charger i use if te genuine one and is the one that came with my chromebook

i got it from school its my school issued chromebook

well then you can go to official dell store and they can guide you well.

Had the same problem - change the setting when on power sleep must not be “never” I changed mine to 3 mins and that stopped the unit from getting hot
