Dell Chromebook 11 3120
Hello!
I did all the research i though i needed. I removed the back, and removed the write protect screw, put it all back together an Installed Linux mint 18.3 Cinnamon on it.
Everything works great, i'm on it now and its lighting fast....BUT i have no sound.
It's a driver problem, i'm sure, but can't find any drivers for it on the web.
Anyone got any ideas?

Since it was already a Chromebook, I installed Neverware's CloudReady on it instead.

That's Chromium OS with a new wrapper...the same as Chrome OS in my opinion.
I found it choppy when i ran it, so i tried Gallium OS but it's nothing like the speed and responsiveness i get from running Cinnamon.

Have you had any issues with CloudReady on the 3120?

go to your firmware settings and turn to developer mode on not under the web settings but the actual computers firmware settings and update till you can't update anymore if that doesn't work then it is a blown speaker or a system failure of the updating use a stronger and more secure wifi then you did when you started

I would love to install xubuntu on my chromebook but I am afraid that I will brick the chromebook! This is the only chromebook that I have. If I had no common sense I would just do it but it makes me anxious about what could happen, tips and encouragement might help me do it. I am also torn between dual-booting and removing chrome os, but I kind of just want xubuntu since not as much can go wrong with just xubuntu than dual-booting.
