Trouble with EMC Test profile

Hi All:

I am using the following ip address and profile to gain access to the Centera test environment:

"128.221.200.60?v:\\us2_profile3_rdqeDcw.pea"

I check the capability for exist and FPPool_GetCapability returns true.  I then call FPClip_Exist with a valid Clip ID which return true, but when I look at the last error I get -10204: {"FPClip_Exists(): -10204\nFP_OPERATION_NOT_ALLOWED: The use of this operation is restricted or this operation is not allowed because the server capability is false."}

The profile definition has a 'e' in it and I have verified using the FPPool_GetCapability as well.  Does anyone have any thoughts here as to what I am doing incorrectly?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I have also verifed that the cluster you are trying to access (128.221.200.60) does indeed have clipExists capability enabled at the server and profile level. Which SDK version are you using?

Hi Zeeshan:

I have figured out my problem, but thanks for your response. I didn't know you could not perform operations on content created using a different pea file. I wrote out a couple of files using the profile that had the attributes I wanted. I was then able to perform the tests that I needed to.

Thanks again for your time,

Kevin

Great - thanks for updating the thread with your finding. And yes, you will need to use the proper pea file/authentication.
