Removing all data from a Centera
The client I'm working for has a Centera that hasn't been touch in 3 years. Nobody nows what application was used to created the data on the Centera. What I've read is that you use the application that created the data to remove it. Is there any other way to do this?
Thanks

Hi
We could use a set of tools that we use internally to create a list of objects and then delete these.
Typically we use any way of remote access for such interventions. Please get in touch using holger.jakob@informatio.ch
Alternatively you could ask EMC to perform a factory init (if it is not a CE+ system).
Best regards, Holger

rha298,
EMC provides two options to erase the data on your Centera cluster.
There is a Certified Data Erasure engagement that will erase all data on the cluster and provide you with a certification document for your company to prove that all data on the cluster was destroyed to industry specifications. This is also the only real option if the box is in CE+ compliance mode.
If the cluster is not in CE+ compliance mode, the box could be reinitialized by a local EMC service representative.
I suggest you open a Service Request with EMC support or contact your local EMC service representative to explore your options more fully.
