I need to archive opentext data to centera.
Hi
I have an opentext 9.7.1 application running on solaris. I was to archive this data to centera. I have an 4Node G4LP running on C*4.1.1 sp2.
Do i need to buy any licenses from EMC/opentext to archive data.
Please provide me the requirement to archive the opentext data to centera.
Thanks
Sasi

You cannot write directly to a Centera. The Centera has an API which applications use to interface with the Centera. Simply put, you need an application to write this data to the Centera.
There are a number of vendors that partner with EMC to create various applications to interface with the Centera. I do not know if there is a specific opentext application vendor.
There are also appliances that can write to a Centera such as a CUA. You could create network shares on the CUA and then write objects to these shares. The CUA will in turn write this to Centera.

Vallabhaneni, OpenText is integrated to Centera; it might be that Dennis is not aware of this, as we have almost 300 official integrations; Dennis is right that you cannot write directly to Centera (as you would to a file system); code needs to be developed using the Centera API or the Industry Standard XAM API.
OpenText integrates to Centera via the Centera API, which provides more granular functionality; so you should be able to archive your data. See attached paper for high level details.

I am not aware of any additional licensing requirements OpenText has in regards to Centera, but will check and get back to you.
FYI, in most cases, there are no additional charges for using the 'connectors' from an application to Centera, but this is something that each Integrated Software Vendor (ISV) manages independently.
