Delete virtual pool containing data with retention period applied

Good day,

We're using a Centera Gov Edition along with Documentum Content Server and RPS. We have a customer that no longer want to store their data on the Centera but their documents have a retention period applied to them. Is it possible to delete their virtual pool from our Centera before the retention period expires?  Maybe using a privileged delete?  Is this something EMC Support can do ?

Thanks

The individual clips would need to be deleted (using Privileged Delete) and then finally the virtual pool would be deleted.

Support could do it, but it is more likely to require a Services engagement.

Hi

As long as you have the reflections that result from the deletion of your data on the system you will not be able to delete the pool. It can be renamed and reused but not really deleted as it is not empty.

Support may remove the reflections as well but I would assume you want them as proof that you have really deleted your customer's data.

Best regards, Holger

Thanks for pointing that out Holger. I was assuming that this would eventually be done via a Service / Support engagement and that they would ask the question after the clips were deleted.

Hi

I have not yet had Support delete reflections on any of our customers or our systems. All our service provider customers would really want the reflections to remain on the system for their proof and ApplicationAudit to track them. Then they would rename the pool to customer_unused and leave it on the system. WIth the next refresh of the systems this would be gone then if only pools with data are migrated.
