Delete Orphans FMA

I have FMA 7.2 b406 installed. We want to delete almost 25 million orphan files from centera. Using commandline we can only delete 10,000 files at a time which is very time consuming. Is there any faster way/script to delete those orphans. I dont think that orphans_delete policy is available in my FMA version. Any help will be very appreciated.

Hello,

There has been a similar query in the past and was answered. The thread is at  https://community.emc.com/message/378979#378979 . According to it, there is a script developed by the rainfinity support engineers and is called orphanDelete.sh. Please contact the rainfinity support technicians after going through the article and request for assistance on this.

Hello Gello,

Your question may have already been answered, but the simplest method would be to upgrade to a later version of FMA.  The 7.3 series has the ability to schedule a delete orphan policy and can handle much more than 10,000 files at once.  Please be sure to always run stub scanner on the file system before using the delete orphan policy.  Please review The File Management tasks sections of the 7.3 Getting Started Guide and the Release notes on Powerlink for more details.
