CPM to CPP migration for existing data
Hi,
Do we offer any service that allows customer to change the already stored data from CPM protection to CPP protection?
The only thing that i can think of is:
-> get the license, enable the feature
-> add sufficient nodes (min 8 for cpp)
-> use CICM2 (which is not really designed for this)
What protection scheme is used when migrating the data? During a CICM v2.0 migration, the data will be written to the target cube with the current protection scheme that is enabled on the cluster. During a CICM v1.0 migration, the data will be written to the target cube with the protection scheme that it was written as.
Is CICM 2.0 designed to change protection from CPM to CPP? No. Although Intra Cluster Migration will migrate all selected source content to the currently configured protection scheme, it has not been designed and validated for the specific use as protection transformation utility. Using it as a transformation utility may unveil functional shortcomings, for example in the area of reporting and may not fully meet the customer’s expectation.
-> after the migrationre-initialize the offline nodes to factory (given no goverment or higher compliance)
-> cleanup duplicate disk-id's in order to allow re integration in the cluster
So would there be any service that is designed to do this as the above requires intensive emcexpert involvement and though it would do the needed is not designed for the process?
