copy raw data from ata beast to emcpower, best methods?

Hello,

I need help in copying data from ATA Beast disk array over to emcpowera1, what is the best methods and process.   I have not worked with raw data copy.   One person/docs say to use dd, but how do I know that it worked and what other method would be best.  What other files need to be updated to complete this process.
