Centera Retention by Pool

I would like to know if and/or how a retention value (or retention class) can be set for a specific pool on the Centera. It appears that a default retention period can be specified for the entire cluster, but I've not found way to set this at the pool level.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you are on a compliance mode Centera, you can update the pool retention on the default pool or any other virtual pool by using the following CLI command on Centera Viewer:

update pool retention

You can also specify min/max retention period at the pool level provided you have the Advanced Retention Management license.

Hi ZZK,

Does it mean that without Advance Retention Management License, we cannot set retention at pool level ?

Thanks

Hi SAN,

You should be able to set/configure a default retention period at the pool level and do not need Advanced Retention Management (ARM) license for that. Note that the Centera needs to be either in GE or CE+ compliance mode.

ARM license is required if you want to use the Min/Max Governor, Event Based Retention and Litigation Hold features of Centera.

Hope this helps.
