Cant get CUA installation going

Could someone please point me in the right direction I am trying to install a CUA on Gen 4 HW, global services 4.0 and CUA 4.0. I have c0001n14 as the node to become a CUA and node c001n07 as my PXE.

Installation fails as soon as I choose c001n14 as my node to become a CUA.

Any input is appreciated.

Nodes available to be a CUA:
Name: c001n14 Status: online Type: Spare
Available space on the /var partition is 130MB (400MB min)
The CUA requires 400MB minimum for the installation to proceed

Could be all the nodes in the cluster have less than 400 MB in /var space. Can you post the output of /var space on the cluster?

fpshell -c df -h | grep var

Please Review EMC Knowledgebase article emc184613 ¿Centera Viewer 4.0 is unable to perform install of CUA software on Centera nodes¿ for information before continuing.

The error is misleading. You need /var space on the spare node and also the PXE node. Once you tried CUA install then it creates an ftp directory on PXE node filling up /var space.

The solution is

1) Either clean up the /var on the PXE node you selected.
2) Pick another PXE node

I understand what you are saying. This is however the situation. Right now c001n07 is my PXE node...which does not have enough room. I know that for a fact. I can clean that up, its not a problem. However, CUA installation procedure asks you first to identify which node will become a CUA, and then to select a PXE node. My installation fails as soon as I say c001n014 will become a CUA, which is even before I say that c001n07 will be a pxe. I hope I didn't lose you there.

That turned out to be the issue. Centera actually sent out an alert about the same problem. Peter D. from EMC called in and cleared up the situation. I finished the CUA install today without any problems. Thank you for your help.
