Can Centera handle Two different DMS?

Hi,

I have never worked with Centera before and we have the following requirements in which i believe you can help me with.

Here is the environemt:

  1. Documentum ECM
  2. iManage DMS

With the CAS offered by Centera, is it possible for the two DMS systems to share information? That is, in Documentum, i should be able to see content stored in Centera by iManage and in iManage, see content pushed into Centera by Documentum.

Thank you, i really appreciate it.

Hi LM

From a Centera point of view you could have access to the same information shared between these two applications. Either by using the same profile in one pool, using two profiles in one pool or by using two profiles in different pools and having read capability in the other pool.

From a data point of view even if you have shared the object references between your two applications I doubt that they would understand the other ones objects and how they are stored. The tag names, custom meta data and other stuff would be different.

Centera can absolutely handle your two DMS systems. Sharing of archived information between these two application will need to be handled at the application level and not at the object level as the format that your two application use to store on Centera will be different.

Best regards, Holger
