Windows 8 clients are unable to save the files in a CIFS share with SMB2 enabled

Windows 8 clients are unable to save the files in a CIFS share with SMB2 enabled but they are able to save the files in CIFS shares with SMB1 (SMB2 disabled)

I am  able to open the files and edit it but I am not able to save the changes.

The following error is observed while trying to save the files with SMB2 enabled

\\test_cifs\test.txt is currently in use. Try again later

DART version is 7.1.65.8

Does any have idea how to resolve this and I would like to use SMB2 ?

Thanks!

AP

Does that also happen if you use a mapped drive instead of a UNC path ?

Haven seen that

Please open a service request so this can be properly looked

You probably need to take network traces and get them analyzed

Let us know how it was resolved

Open your regular file explorer.exe – go do tools -> map network drive and map your share to a drive letter like Z:

Or use “net use” on the Windows CLI

Then try again writing using Z:\... instead of a UNC path like
Server\share\
Server\share\>...

Did you open a service request ?
