The easiest way to get an answer for this is looking at the results file of an nasdb_backup.
They are located in /nas/var/backup.
Just list one of them f.e. using tar tvzf and you will see which files are backed up and will be restored.

Hi Peter
I have tried to check the file and i have found the VDM information there in the NASDB backup file.
But i would like to know if some one ever done the NASDB retore and it has happened successfully,
-----------------
Last week i have done the NASDB restore and it failed. NASDB restore has not restored VDM information and also after the restore my celerra crashed and Data movers went in configured state.
-----------------
Has anyone performed or seen successfull NASDB restore and has NASDB restored VDM information?

More importantly, if you make any modifications to the NAS Database, you can void your warranty and any work to repair your system will be charged as T&M.
Please open a Service Request to address this issue.

We hired EMC professional services team to perform the activity with some hefty amount and they failed. The NAS device crashed completely and it was reconfigured from scratch.
So to summarize NASDB restore cant be done as even EMC could not do it.
