What version of Celerra replicator is required
Hi guys,
I need help in knowing the version of the celerra replicator. Our client has VNX5300 box. And as per the plan we should replicate the file storage from NS480 to VNX 5300. To do that, i got to know that celerra replicator is required. But i dont know what version of celerra replicator is required for replicating the file storage from NS480 to VNX5300. Do we need this celerra replicator s/w to be installed on both NS480 and VNX?
Please kindly give an update on this.
Also kindly let me know if we have VNX ip replicator on VNX will that be sufficient to pull the file systems from VNX.

Yes dynamox... We both are from the same project.. desperatly waiting to know the version of the celerra replicator.

Thanks dynamox for your immediate response.. So Dart 6.0 is mandate for the celerra replication to occur.
But any particular version of celerra replicator that will be supported on both NS480 and VNX5300..
Also wondering if we can do this below process..
On VNX5300, we have only local protection suite.
So if we have VNX ip replicator, will that be sufficient to pull the data from NS480 file storage.

Ok you mean the Dart version should be at least 6.0 version. If its is then only we will be able to replicate via celerra replicator... is that you mean.....?
If the Dart is 6.0 ... then what version is needed ?

no, need license for Replicator or source and target. Replicator is pushing data to remote array, it can not pull data.

in order to replicate between Celerra and VNX, Celerra needs to be runnign DART 6.0. If you meet that requirement you mean replicator requirement.

I want to move the file storage from NS480 totally to VNX5300.

So you mean only the replication can happen from NS480.That is, it will push the data to the VNX. And both NS480 and VNX should have the celerra replicator software installed on them to complete this process.

You need license for SNAPSURE and Celerra Replication V2 and you can create replication session to migrate data from Celerra to VNX.
Please consult your sales team and they can help you in getting the licenses. Please refer to the emc video on powerlink
