what should I do after provisioning storage from vmax?
hi there,
vmax is thin provisioned with 8*240GB to the storagegroup named with vdm. VDM was created already. But when I run server_devconfig all -c -s -all, it prompted :
000198700495 stor_dev=0x06D0 (1744 decimal), maps to a reserved host LUN id 0xd.
17716815787: server_2 c112t0l6 skipping reserved LUN id,
why this happened? Thanks!
Charles

symaccess -sid XXX show view
find your device and then look in the "Host LUN" column. What value is assigned ?

HI Dynamox,
Yes, I saw the LUN ID is 6--D, these supposed to be reserved. Thanks for reminding me. I used the GUI this time, I'm going to use symcli do the job. thanks

make sure LUNs get presented using host id > 16 (decimal)

sorry but i do everything from cli , i am sure it's there as an option when you add devices to a storage group.
symaccess -
add devs [-lun ] |
[-lun ] |
[-lun | -lun ]
