VNX5500 - how to manage permission to Folder from Windows 7 or Windows 2008

Hello, i have problem with set permission to folder on CIFS (server isn't in domain, server is standalone) from Windows 7 or Windows 2008.

My steps:

- modify host file

     ip      cifs-hostname

- use mmc for manage users

add new user on CIFS (user "new_user")

- map CIFS share to my system

     map z: \\cifs-hostname\share

- create new folder

- right click to folder -> properties -> tab security -> edit -> add

now i show only "build-in" users and groups. I don't see users from CIFS

... if i try this steps from Windows 2003, all is OK

Same problem is if I try add user to group. This steps are in document (page 19): https://support.emc.com/docu31559_Using_Windows_Administrative_Tools_on_VNX_7.0.pdf

This manual has note "The task instruction shown are for Windows Server 2003. ...". This is fine, but i need work from Windows 2008

Any idea or help me?

Thank you, Jirka.

Thats the VNX OE block version – since you are using CIFS you need to look at the VNX OE file version – like 8.1.x.x

Try nas_version or server_version
