Unix user attribute migration to AD
Has anyone out there used the Celerra MMC to migrate unix attributes from NIS to AD? I'm trying to get an idea of how it will take to migrate 750+ users and 250+ groups to AD from an existing NIS environment and what if any load it will place on the two servers during the migration.

No
I would suggest to re-visit that config again – AFAIK the MMC is for the „old“ EMC proprietary AD extension.
That was created a long time ago when there was no native AD unix attributes available
These days we really recommend customers to use the RFC 2307 Microsoft attributes that are present in newer Windows AD schema (at least since W2k8R2)
For details see the manuals and google

Thanks for the reply , VNX support pointed us to the MMC, we've got it installed and extended the schema via that tool. customer is looking for exact times for how long the migration may take; will see about going this other route.
FYI - It was recommended to post in both forums, not looking for twice the answers

Sure – the point is that it would not have been necessary to extend the schema – you could have used the Windows AD native schema and tools for that
