SMB Compatibility Win 2012 NS-480
Windows 2012 server cannot connect to NAS share on NS-480. Need to check what SMB is running NS-480. Can the NS-480 support SMB3.0

Ok but I still get Access denied on the 2012 server trying to access a share on the NS-480. Is there a way to check the 2012 server to see if it will try a lower SMB

Correct
But that doesnt mean that 2012 clients wont work.
They can and will negotiate down to lower SMB versions

As far as i know SMB3 support was introduced in OE 7.1 on VNX ..which is not supported on NS-480

Sure – take a network trace
Or connect to a Window CIFS server that doesnt implement SMB3
If you haven’t updated the DART code on the NS-480 in quite a while I would suggest to try that.
A search in the knowledgebase doesn’t hurt either.

Try disabling "Secure Negotiate" using PowerShell on the 2012 client.
