question related to multiprotocol environment.

Hi All,

Can anyone help me with more information on "multiprotocol environment?

Does that mean CIFS and NFS users can access the same file system?

Thanks.

Yes – multi-protocol means NFS (Unix) and CIFS (Windows) accessing the very same files

It typically also involves user mapping and permission mapping / access checking

Take a look at the VNX / Celerra manuals for CIFS multi-protocol, NFS and user mapping for more details.

At least read each manuals concepts section to get a better understanding
