NX4- FLARE and DART releases

can anyone point me to some documentation regarding what features or versions of the next dart and flare release will be supported on the NX4?  i get the impression this array may be EOL due to the fact it has an AX5 backend.

any thing would help.

thanks

I'm mostly looking to see what vsphere integration we will have.

Attached you will find the releases notes for the latest version of NAS DART Code.  The NX4 is compatible with this version of code.  You can find this and other release notes on Powerlink by following this path:
Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > Celerra Network Server > Release Notes
As of now, we don't have any documentation for Dart 6.0 that can be distributed.  I can tell you, though, that "EMC Unisphere: Next-generation management product for CLARiiON and Celerra" will be available.

i was able to get the relase notes pdf, but am unable to find the unisphere document even on powerlink, is it a internal only document?

Hi Sebby,

The uploaded document on Unisphere seems to be corrupt. I am uploading few documents on Unisphere. Check if it is of any help in regards to AX4/AX5 backend. We are still unsure if this can be integrated with AX4/AX5. Going by the claim of Unisphere consolidation, it should also integrate AX4/AX5.

Final conclusion should be available soon on  Interoperability matrix.

any word on weather the AX4-5 will be supported with FLARE 30?  if not what is the final level of code the NX4 (Clarrion AX4-5F8) will support.

I'm currently running FLARE 02.23.050.5.705. and many of the VMWare Clarrion Add-ins or VSI will not work with this release, i'm pretty sure they need 2.29+.

as of right now, i'm pretty much being forced into NFS filesystem exports.

All of our VMWare VMFS datastores are currently built out on iSCSI luns off the Cellerra NX4.

I'm also interested to see if the AX4-5F will get VAAI support.

I've been told by pretty much everyone that i have spoken to at EMC, that A) they are not sure and B) the AX5 is pretty much End of Life.

Not to say we can't use the Unisphere or VMWare Plug In's but that VAAI will probably not be supported.  I for one was very disapointed to hear that.  My units aren't even 9 months old and i can't take advantage of the "Next BIG thing".

When will release notes for dart 6.0.36 be available?  I want to see what's changed and what's new.  EMC wants us to upgrade our NX4 to this version for a replication project to a new NX4 at our disaster recovery site.

The DART 6 release notes have been avaiable on Powerlink since it was released a couple of weeks ago
