New install. Someone already setup a Celerra Network Server, but incorrectly.. need to modify.
Just had a new installation of a 5300 File only VNX.
All was going hunky dory until I was ready to start setting things up for the interconnects and saw the control station already listed.
Using the GUI first, I attempted to delete it, but recieved a error like this...
"Invalid operation: Cs0-houston is used by Celerra Replicator, fs_copy, TimeFinder/FS NearCopy, or FarCopy"
so, I tried this from CLI and got the folllowing,
131 04/24/12 07:30:25 [nasadmin@Cs0-houston ~]$ nas_cel -modify id=0 -passphrase yaddayaddayadda -ip 10.10.10.10
132 04/24/12 07:30:25 Error 2224: invalid operation
133 04/24/12 07:30:25 Error 2224: invalid operation"
Same error if using ROOT as well.
I unchecked snapsure and replication V2 from lic. and tried again, but no luck.
EMC chat support told me it was a implementation issue, so as I wait for "someone" to call me back, I thought I'd see if anyone here knows.

What do you want to modify/change? The CS-IP listet in nas_cel -l?
Have you tried a nas_cel -update id=0 instead?

Yeah Peter, I've tried MODIFY, UPDATE, DELETE... all the things you'd think you should be able to do.
This is the first time I recall (we have 4 other "CELERRAS") that something was already setup in the CNS tab in replication.
If the EMC installer set it up, we never supplied him with the passphrase that we use so I simply need to put that password in.
Christopher,
I looked at the link you provided, but dont see the relevance.
ARGH...

Ah, dude, dont sweat it...
I did see your other post in the other forum and found the comments made about setting up a virtual IP for both control stations....
Thank you... This is our first VNX for file only and that would have been overlooked.

Peter_EMC may have more to contribute regarding the default CNS self-reference (id=0).
In regards to the IPalias in a dual control station environment, if you would like more information there are short references in both of the following guides. With dual control stations, I would go as far as suggesting it is mandatory when remote replication is involved (optional but of course convenient, if not).
On Powerlink, both guides with reference to an IPalias are available via the following breadcrumb trail:
Home > Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > VNX Series > Maintenance/Administration
1) VNX System Operations
Section: "Configure IP aliasing"
2) Using VNX Replicator
Section: "Using dual Control Stations"
Sub-Section: "IP aliasing"

DHoffman,
My apologies for supplying unrelated information.
If you are concerned about the default local reference to itself (id=0), and you are trying to modify to include a passphrase, it is not a valid parameter. Remember, this entry is simply used in conjunction with the loopback interconnect so a shared passphrase is not relevant. Passphrase is only shared between peers. Loopback interconnect lets you use Replicator to copy a filesystem or VDM within the same array.
Again, apologies in advance if I am misunderstanding what is being attempted here. Also, you will not be able to delete it as you had tried as it is in use by the loopback interconnect.

The IP? The hostname?

First thought: you can't be running "nas_cel -modify id=0" with a passphrase. There isn't one set for that -- The CS uses entry 0 to configure Local Interconnects.
That should reset and check all local interconnects (DM2 to DM2, DM3 to DM3, etc)
Example:
