Move VDM root filesystem to an alternate storage pool
I have a storage pool that on a Celerra VG2 (backed by a CX4-960) that I wish to retire and re-use the Storage elsewhere. I have moved all the data filesystems, replicas and checkpoints using the Replicator funcationality and all I am left with are VDM root filesystems. What is the correct procedure for moving these filesystems?

The VDM root filesystems can be moved with the same process for moving filesystems. First, create a new pool on your new storage (presuming you've already done this). Next, create a VDM replication session from the old CX4-960 storage to your new pool. Once the replication is completed, you're nearly finished. Now, you will unmount all filesystems mounted on the source VDM, switchover to the new VDM filesystem, then re-mount all filesystems against the new VDM.
Once that's completed, you can clean up your old VDM filesystems, delete all CX4-960 pools and remove it from the VG2.
Let us know if that helps!

Thanks Karl. I'll give that a try.
