Migrate NS22 physical DM to VNX5200 VDM

Hello,

I am planning migrate a CIFS share from NS22 to VNX5200.

NS20 CIFS server is mount on physical DM and the share with quota.

I want to migrate all share, CIFS server and file system to the new VDM.

I read the emc170111(How to move a CIFS server from a physical Data Mover to a Virtual Data Mover (VDM)).
Is it possible to keep all the share quota and permissons after unjoin the domain?

ThankYou

Two different things

Quota’s are kept in the file system – if you migrate using a block-by-block method like Replicator they will be migrated as well.

Shares are stored in the CIFS server config – if you migrate the VDM with the CIFS server than the shares will migrate as well along with the CIFS server

Thank You for you sharing

So that, before I migrate NS22 to VNX5200, I follow the emc170111 to move the CIFS server from physical Data Mover to a VDM first

Look at the linked referred docs as well.

Thanx

I have read "emc170111", "MIGRATING DATA FROM AN EMC CELERRA or VNX ARRAY TO A VNX2 USING VNX REPLICATOR".

I follow the step to move DM to VDM. After that, I try to replicate to new VNX.

Unfortunately, my client had global share, use a tree quota and user quota, cifs server is on DM and want to use the same ip-address and cifs server name.
Q1. How can I replicate the file system, all tree quota and user quota to the new VNX?

Q2. What is the flow or step of the procedure ?
Q3. How to assign the cifs server ip-address and name as exiting NS20 cifs server?

Q4. How to verify the size and amount of share folder between NS20 and VNX after replication
