Maintenance on NS20 if add second hand disks
Hi,
The company I work with have 2 x CX4-120's and a Celerra NS20. We will continue to spend when necessary on the CX4-120's however we want to try minimise spending on the NS20. Because there is quite a lot of 2nd hand gear on ebay (etc), I was curious of the following:
If we get a maintenance contract on the NS20 to just cover the primary DAE (DAE0), Data Movers, control station and disks in DAE0 and then attach a 2nd DAE we have purchased and filled with disks, will our maintenance still be valid?
(Please don't tell me I'm cheap.....that is our mission with the NS20...and I know the 2nd hand gear needs to be compatible with the NS20...I know that)
Thanks,
David

it's very unlikely that EMC will approve this, if CE comes out to work on your NS20 how will he know that DAE0 is supported by EMC and DAE1 is not ? If NS20 is not going to be used for mission critical data/applications, inquire your EMC team about "Time & Material" support contract.

Hi,
I am sorry, but this seems to be a question to your EMC commercial representative ( Sales Rep, TC ).
