Looking to bypass ndu rules for a CX4-480
I have an old CX4-480 that is out of warranty that I'm trying to migrate to a new VNX via SANCopy. Unfortunately at some point in the past something happened to the install of SANCopy on the CX4-480 and it was un-installed. While working with EMC on getting it reinstalled we found that due to some disk failures causing a fault, the ndu process cannot continue. Is there anyway to bypass the "No System Faults" rule of the ndu to install SANCopy without replacing the disks on the out of warranty array? Trying to get upper management to agree to pay money on the array that is being decommissioned is going to be a tough battle.

I've been in that exact situation before - need to add SAN Copy, but can't because of the failed drives. Like Dynamox said do a pull operation from the VNX, may not be too bad if the amount of storage to migrate isn't too large and you have the time.
You could try asking your sales team who sold you the VNX to lend you some loaner drives to correct the faults. Another option I've used, since it's out of warranty and a temporary solution - buy refurbished drives and add them. Not normally recommended but in this case it's expedient and not too expensive.
