lgdup.exe default user password

Hi Everyone!

I wonder what's the default password that lgdup utility assigns to newly migrated users. I watched a couple manuals, but did'nt find an answer.

Could someone please provide me this info or a link to a good doc? I see I can just reset it to whatever I like, but there are pretty lot of users there and it's madnes to do it manualy.

See you!

There is no default password

After copying local users with LGdup you need to assign a new password with Manage Computer MMC

Thanks, bergec!

All hope is gone There's no magic.

Don't you know, does Celerra support automation for this task (i.e. import passwords from a csv via script)?

lgdup is used for copying local groups. Passwords do not belong to local groups, there is no need for the datamover to import passwords with local groups.

Peter!

I can't agree with you about "lgdup is used for copying local groups". lgdup also copies local users database (commandline switch -u). I've already copied users db to the celerra, but they are all in the "disabled" state and the "user must change password".

not from the Celerra side

but you should be able to use regular Windows tools to remotely change passwords (provided they run in the security context of a user thats in the CIFS servers local administrator group)
