How to migrate Security user's permissions

Hello,

I have an old NS350
that belong let's say to x.com, and I'm replicating all the FS to a new VNX5300
that I configured to new DNS let's say y.com.
So now I have all the
fs updates on the VNX5300 and i want to connect them to a CIFS server that
belongs to y.com.
How can i migrate all
the user's permissions to the new DNS?

you mean active directory not DNS right ?

You can use the Robocopy /SEC and /SECFIX option for that.  How are you migrating data?

Hi all,

Windows tools didn't help robocopy won't help because it doesn't know how to
move the security permissions to another domain. I try to use the server_cifs
-migrate but it seems the wrong way.

Look at Windows domain migration tools

Or 3rd party like SecurityExplorer

Or do repermissioning with cacls

Typically SIDhistory helps to bridge the time for migration

Is SID history enabled?  If not you may need to export your usermapper db, manually (or programmatically  modify it, and re-import it.  Not too hard,  I just had to do that myself for a windows domain trust splitting..

Maybe I didn't explain my self clearly. I need not only move to another
domain but also be able to view the permissions

At the old domain (will be exist for few months)
