How to Enable VC for a FS that has been mounted with noscan option?
Hi,
As part of migration, we had to mount filesystems with "-o noscan" option. Unfortunately, after the migration, the filesystems are still mounted as noscan (inspite of instructions to change before final delta copy/cutover). Is there a way to ensure that all those fileystems are mounted back as defaults so that these fileysystems get scanned again without disrupting the production?
Appreciate your help.
Regards.

Hi Sekhar,
I was about to reply when I saw your last post about the path .. it's easy to find it out where the data mover file system mount table is stored - but recommended not to modify or alter the same manually, so I completely agree with your plan to let Support team do it for a production box.
I also saw the case you opened this morning - you 'll definitely get a call form the support team if not already received one.
Thanks,
Sandip

I suspect, it will not remove the "noscan" option once set - even you mount the file system without this option now.
In other words, if the Option was not set before, it can be set on the fly - simply use the server_mount command with the required option.
But once the option is set, it is in the mount table for that data mover and mounting without the option will not remove it.
However, this can be done without any impact - if you are quite familiar with the NAS you may do it by modifying the data mover file system mount table - I am not sure whether I can provide you the path or details of the command on this forum. But you may contact our Support team to get this done by them.
In fact I 'll suggest you open a Support case for this, as the file systems are live and you don't want to take any risk
My 2 cents,
Sandip

I think I got the Path. But I'd let support confirm it. Will keep you updated with support's action.

Rainer- Thank you for quick response.
Sandeep - I already have a case open with support (SR35482500). I realised that it has to be modifed at DM level. However, I did not want to risk live environment. Just curious about the path though..:)
Thank you.
