EMC Celerra CX-500 Data Recovery Options

I have an older EMC Celerra CX500 that had some data (CIFS) accidentally deleted off of it and we're unable to find a good backup of the device.  Are there any methods that can be use to recover the data?  Possible hidden recycle bin etc?  Unfortunately no replication and/or checkpoints were configured.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

have you talked to support ? there are certain scenarios where it's possible to recover a file system.

Yeh I have, but unfortunately the Celerra is out of support and technically end of service (as of 2012).  The device was to be used for archived data only (should of been backed up regardless) and not for active/production data.  That obviously was not the case here.

i am afraid you are out of luck then. Unfortunatelly there is no "undelete" or "recycle bin".  If you did not have any snapshots and data got deleted, it's gone.

Yeh, that's what I was fearful of, yet assumed it was the case.  Thanks

file system is uxfs, if there is any good data left on that file system ..i would back it up before you attemp any recovery (if that's even possible with uxfs).

Is anyone familiar with file carving on a linux based system?  Would something along those lines possibly work in recovering some deleted data?
