Disk Processor Enclosure (Enclosure SPE) is faulted

Hi,

We had this error appear a few days ago on our CX480 and I was wondering what kind of effects should be expected from this kind of fault. Here's a little back story on why I'm asking.

Since this error appeared, some data was corrupted and there is noticeable lag for traffic to and from this storage attached to our servers. I reported this to our third party support who have assured me this type of fault/error would not cause data corruption. I replied by saying I thought it was a ripple effect and if certain apps temporarily lost access to their log files they constantly write to, it could (and did) cause data corruption.

There is also a bottleneck somewhere as copying to and from is much slower now. So much so that we actually had to adjust the time outs on our clusters just to keep them from failing,

Support said it's a bad gbic that has to be replaced and that slowness would make sense, but not data corruption.

I'm just curious if my issues are indicative of this error message, or if there could be more issues I'm not directly seeing. I'm learning storage via the trial by fire method, so I'm not particularly savvy with this platform just yet.

Thanks.
