Disk marked failed. During CSA(5.6) provisioning for new DAE.
Dear all I have recently added a new DAE (NS 120) after setting DAE ID and all now I am trying to provision storage from celerra startup assistant 5.6 DAE is having 15 disk each disk 2TB after successful login when I select provisioning I defined 9 disk to use for NAS and rest disks reserved for SAN with 1 hot spere now when I click on apply and wizard done three steps 1.verifying configuration2.configuring storage 3.binding and when it comes on marking LUNS I got an error showing that disk mark failed. I tried it many times but all the time getting same error anybody have any idea on this ,do anyone have faced this .Your comments a appreciated thanks in advance.

did you select specific protection, here are your options highlighted in orange. For 2TB SATA i would strongly consider RAID 6

A look at server_log should tell you why the diskmark is failing
Most likely you are using a RAID config that’s not supported for NAS use

Hi Daynamox actually when we are going via CSA provisioning we have option for raid five and raid 6 ,why its creating problem if we are using disks in raid5 .In celerra tool forms i saw a articl regarding this that is saying:--
This issue is not yet root-caused. The only known workaround is to manually create RAID groups and LUNs using Navisphere, and then to add the devices to the Celerra database by diskmarking:
Provision storage using Navisphere Manager (Create Raid Group, Bind LUNs, Add LUNs to Celerra Storage Group), followed by Celerra Manager > Storage > Systems > "Rescan" button
what you think on this sir?why disk marking is failed when it comes on LUN maring point.

Yap its new DAE actually after mount of DAE we created two group of raid 5 with 0ne hot spare. After that we delete the raid group ,make disks unbind and try to provision storage for NAS by CSA 5.6. but by CSA provisioning its giving above error .that disk marked failed at the stage of LUN marking..

It is possible that the maximum NAS dvol size of just under 2 TB (2 TB - 1 MB) is being exceeded.
For the RAID Group that you describe: 9x 2 TB drives as 8+1 RAID 5, the group should be split into 8x equal sized LUN's.

use server_log to find out why its failing
you also might be able to use setup_clariion instead of CSA
if else fails create raidgroups and LUNs manually
