Datamovers in state reset

I've brought a Celerra NS40 from one network to another (in the other network was already configured)
For now I have only connected to the CS Blades but I connect serial cable reads:

The getreason command output is:

10 - slot_0 primary control station
0 - reset slot_2
0 - reset slot_3

The / nas / bin / nas_checkup output command is:

7.Control Station: Checking if NBS clients are started ....................... Fail
9.Control Station: Checking if NBS devices are accessible .................... Fail

I have several queries:
1. Datamovers should be connect if not connected to the cab (FC)?
2. It would be better to reinstall the Celerra from scratch or modify network parameters? (ip's changed)

Thank you very much in advance,

Jhon.

if this is an integrated model you connect datamovers directly to the CX ports, there should be no FC switch in the middle.

Yes dynamox,  it´s all ok.

I have connected the CS to the blades

The CS and the two blades are powered and the LED's are all ok

With this, the datamovers should start?

If datamovers start, I will connect the blades to fiber switches and I will create the zones for attachment to the cabin.

Sorry, I'm new in this ...
If I have not the blades attached to the cab, do datamovers should be able to connect?
Now are:

0 - reset slot_2

0 - reset slot_3

and it must be:

4 - slot_2 contacted

4 - slot_3 contacted

What is what may be happening? What I can do to set in state "Contacted" ?

For the system to boot correctly you NEED to have both the FC cables from the DM to the SPs AND the internal management Ethernet cables connected properly

Thanks Rainer and dynamox for your help

. I can´t connect directly the DM to the SPs because the SP´s only have two interfaces FC (2 in the SPa and 2 in the SPb). I have a clariion CX3-40C. The rest of conections are ICSI. I have connected the SPs of the clariion CX3-40C to the switch FC and I will connect the FC of DM to the switch FC too. But I have a problem with this, when I connect the FC of the DM to the switch,  the DM lost connection intermitent.

I'm thinking of installing from zero the Celerra
Have there any way to leave the factory settings?
Where can download the Celerra Startup Assistant cd?
Why when I connect the blades to the SW of FC, SW interface where the blades are connected intermittently go off?

Please talk to your local service partner

The NS40 is an integrated machine – connecting a FC switch between the data movers and the SP’s is NOT supported.

That is why it doesn’t work.

You need to cable it in a supported config – a re-install will not help there.

If you need additional FC ports for SAN connectivity you need to buy an additional FC module for the CX and you might also need a license.

Ok – an NS40G is fine with a FC switch in between

For the system to boot properly the the FC needs to be working, zoned properly and the software installed on the control LUNs.

You also need to control station to be able to talk to the CX admin ports – i.e. a navicli getversion from the CS should work.

And the internal network between control station and data movers needs to work – i.e. ping server_2

Your errors about NBS service not working point towards that.

This isn’t easy to troubleshoot this on a forum – I suggest to enagage support via service request or live chat.

Try power-cycling everything up again – a tech should be able to see with a serial cable if the DM’s are booting properly.

If they aren’t then NBS doesn’t work and it cant continue starting the NAS services on the CS

Re-installing shouldn’t be necessary – I suspect its just a matter of having the cabling and config correct.

In general its better to have the procedure figured out before moving the system.

Really, it´s a NS40G.

I read this

"A fabric-connected NS40G gateway server connects to one or more Fibre Channel switches. From the switch, it connects to the storage array. You can use one switch, but for high availability, you must use two switches"

Do you know any utility to check that is what might be happening?
Thank you very much for everything.
