Current NAS Code NS700G

What is the latest NAS Code version for Celerra NS700G?

May 15th, 2014 04:00

I have NS702G and CX4-480 in my NAS setup. I want to upgrade the flare code to R30.P526. Also want to upgrade my NAS code to latest.

Current NAS code is 5.6.47. As per Celerra support matrix april 2014 the maximum supported NAS code with CX4-480 is 5.6.52.2, whereas the procedure generator is allowing up to 6.0.x. I have confusion, which document i should trust?

Pls. suggest me the best.

It seems to be in some comparison. As you can see NS80G, NS40G series etc.. are supporting 5.6.x in a case and can support 6.0 as per the table itself. What is the heading for this table in this document ? Is this from procedure generator ?

That is just a rough overview – please use Elab Navigator to find out whats supported for your specific combination

We were unable to open E-Labs Navi., that is why I post the query.

Kindly help in the same.

Probably because the NS700G actually reached end-of-service-live in March 2012 (8 years after GA back in 2004)

Anyway – it looks like DART 6.0 was never supported on NS500/700 class machines

DART went to 64 bit in 6.0 which these old data movers don’t support

may you share any document which can confirm that the 6.0.x is not made for NS700G. Or any letest support matrix verifying it.

Becuz Procedure generator showing upgrade 6.0.34 is possible for NS700G.

Then there is an error in the procedure generator

From the DART 6 release notes:

Supported hardware When attempting to run USM on unsupported hardware

(CNS|CFS|NS350|NS500|NS600|NS700), the Celerra Upgrade Tool

will correctly exit but exit code is not passed back to the USM.

Therefore, the USM tries to continue the upgrade process but will fail

on the next step that interacts with the Celerra system.

From internal documentation for 6.0:

The following platforms are NOT supported in this release:

• C507 CS

• 516CS

• 517CS

• 514 DM

• 514T DM

• NS500

• NS600

• NS700

• NS350FS
