control station reboot recommendation
Chat session regarding our Celerras:
Me: We had some performance issues with Unisphere, and the last person that I chatted with had me check uptime -- it was 160 days. "Recommended uptime for Control station is 45-50 days," he said. After a reboot, Unisphere seems better.
Me: Where can I find documentation for the "recommended uptime?"
EMC: Actually EMC recommends to reboot the control station in every 90 days.
EMC: There is no written document, but this is the update that we have received from our senior engineers and tech leads.
I was surprised that maintenance recommendations are not documented somewhere. Was the support rep mistaken? Is there an actual EMC doc I can reference?
Thanks...

interesting, i've never heard anybody rebooting their control station every 90 days. I don't touch mine unless we are having an issue with Celerra Manager or we are doing DART upgrade.

It is a dated recommendation. We used to have that a few years back on 5.5 code, due to a Java memory leak.

There is no fixed recommendation and regular reboot isnt necessary.
If you do have an actual problem a control station reboot is quick and painless.
