Connection of Windows 2008 R2 (x86) servers to NS20FC using FC
We want to connect severals Windows 2008 R2 (x64) servers to NS20FC (CLARiiON CX3-10f) Fibre Channel ports, for presenting new LUNs to them using a Fibre Channel SAN. For selecting the proper version of Navishere Host Agent and Navisphere CLI, we have searched in E-Lab Interoperability Navigator (EMC_Navisphere.pdf and custom search), but we haven't found any information about Navisphere Software/NS20FC for Windows 2008 R2 (x64), or for the latest versions of other operating systems like Red Hat 5.3/5.4/5.5 or SUSE SLES 10SP3/11. On the contrary, this information exits for Windows 2003 and previous versions of Red Hat or SUSE.
Is there any problem to connect the CLARiiON of the NS20FC to a Windows 2008 R2 server?
Finally, we have searched the Navisphere Software versions for CX3-10c (our FLARE is 3.26), 6.29 for Host Agent and 6.28 for CLI.
Are these versions correct?
Thanks in advance.

yes, you can use cx3-10 as that is the backend for NS20FC. I've look in E-Lab and you can attach any Windows 2008 boxes (x86 and x64) but for R2 only x64 are listed.

No problem, you want to match naviagent version to Flare version on the array.

I'm not sure about your answer:
can I use the CX3-10c instead of NS20FC for selecting the versions of Navisphere software?
And, why are there entries for NS20FC and Windows 2003 in the interoperability matrix, and any entries for Windows 2008?

Thats because Windows Server 2008 R2 is not available in 32bit – only 64bit ☺
