CIFS migration question

Hello,

We are migrating from Celerra CIFS to a third party storage array CIFS, as part of the migration there would be change in the UNC path of the CIFS share's. Lot of our users use shortcuts to data present in CIFS, is there a tool out there which can migrate and change the shortcuts UNC paths automatically once the actual data is migrated to new path.

Regards,

Balaji

you come to EMC forum and ask for help with migrating data to competitor ?

Just migrate all data at once (if possible) and change A records to point to new IP or IP new CIFS with old CIFS ip address. That way you don't have to mess with changing UNC paths (assuming you are keeping share names/paths the same)

....We are kind of restructuring the filesystem completely so ..there would definitely be a change in the UNC path..so was wondering if there are tools out there in the market to migrate the shortcuts to the new UNC paths.
