Changing device for iSCSI target
Hello guys,
I currently have device cge5 that has an interface assigned to it. This interface is assigned to my iSCSI network portal. I need to change cge5 to an fsn device that will be comprised of cge5 and cge2. I can delete my interface, create new device (fsn) and re-create my interface (same ip address). Will it cause any problems on the iSCSI side ? We are using CHAP authentication.
Thanks

Hi,
If I am not wrong to use the device(cge5 in your case) as the fsn device I think it should have no interface assigned to it first, then only you can use it as a part of fsn device. So you have to free up the device first to use it in the fsn.
Coming to the iscsi side if this interface is used by any host then definitely it will be affected to the host as the interface itself will not be available once it is deleted.

Sameer,
thank you. Systems will be offline when i make that change so i am not worried about that, what i am worried is that iSCSI target will not function after the change. I am not sure if there are any entries in the nasdb that will prevent iSCSI target from excepting connections.

thanks Sameer. Can you configure a client with CHAP iSCSI authentication and then make the change ?
Thanks
