Take a look at Snapsure documentation there are a lot of useful information (for example how to limit SavVol space associated to a given FS)

To answer your question, there is a separate SavVol for each file system and it is outside of FS space (in other words you don't have to take Checkpopint size into account when creating the FS)

You can call it folder or volume

What is important is that it is not space within the FS

Please read the SnapSure manual - it will make things much much clearer

% depends on what's being consumed by SAVVOL , you can restrict it where SAVVOL does not consume more than certain % of file system size. It's not pool though, it's per file system.
