Celerra NS40 - Storage management disconnected

Hello EMC specialists,

I would like to solve a problem on the NS40I private management network :

The Customer has disconnected the back end storage system management cables, to connect them directly to the network.

Then, he has changed the IP addresses for SAN administration : SPA : 10.10.10.50 and SPB : 10.10.10.51.

The external management CS IP is set to 10.10.10.10.

I would like to correct the configuration.

Actually I get :

[nasadmin@cs ~]$ cat /nas/site/sp_info

128.221.252.200         A_CK200081500426   SPA # CLARiiON SP

128.221.253.201         B_CK200081500426   SPB # CLARiiON SP

[nasadmin@cs ~]$ nas_storage -list
id   acl    name           serial_number
1    0      CK200090900427 CK200090900427

[nasadmin@cs ~]$ cat /etc/hosts

...

...

10.10.10.10      cs.ams.com    cs

128.221.252.200         A_CK200090900427   SPA # CLARiiON SP

128.221.253.201         B_CK200090900427   SPB # CLARiiON SP

[nasadmin@cs ~]$

[nasadmin@cs /]$ nas_storage -info id=1
Error 2237: Execution failed: Segmentation fault: Operating system signal. [CLARAPI_FUNCTION_PROTOTYPES.c_clar_show]

[nasadmin@cs /]$

My first idea is to modify the cabling back to original situation, modify the SP IP addresses to their original values, then execute the command clariion_mgmt - modify.

I am looking for a solution without Customer impact, and without modifying the SP IP addresses, which are correct and pingable.

I will appreciate if you can give me some workaround.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards.

Hi,

I would suggest to work directly with EMC customer support on this.

Sorry – I don’t know the details

It shouldn’t be difficult for a good customer service guy to fix – especially if he can dialin
