celerra domain migration
Hi,
we have to migrate our NAs to new domain. We are planning this activity according to emc Primus id emc 200111. Let me give you glimpse of our setup. our existing CIFS server is in mailbse.com domain. We have 70 shares exported through this cifs server .All user access permission
are given to this shares in mailbse.com domain .The new domain is bseltd.domain .Already all users are migrated to new domain using domain migration tool. The users are again given access permissions in new domain .There is trust between both the domains .As of now all clients are migrated once the servers are migrated the old domain mailbse.com will be deleted.
here are my concerns regarding the activiy.
1)according to primus we have to unjoin the CIFS server form old domain, delete CIFS serevr and
create new CIFS server in new domain.
My query is,.will it ensure that all user access permissions will be like earlier once domain migration is done.
2)can we change our cifs server name or we should go again with old name
3)What we should do if users are unable to access shares after the activiy.is their any roll
back process

I can give you the experience that i just went through doing pretty much the same thing.
Without going into too much detail on my system, we had to migrate from our old domain to a new one. The procedure i was given and that we did was to unjoin the current CIF servers from the domain. Delete them out of the Unisphere (note/print screen all the settings/network before doing so). Then re-create them (with same name) with all same settings except different domain.
Worked like a champ
