Cava.exe utilizing 100 % CPU

Hello,

I am running into the problem in subject. To give a discription of the current setup.

- Celerra is used in conjunction with Sophos Endpoint security and control to scan files located on network storage

- For the purpose of protecting the server CA eTrust is installed and the two product have been working without issues

- As part of switch of the endpoint antivirus, eTrust has been replaced with Symantec SEP12.1

After the move to Symantec, it is noticed that the CPU goes up to 100% and keeping really high utilization which was not noticed prior to the move.

I have already seen that it is not advisable to use two antivirus programs on the same server, however this is a configuration that has worked without issues in the past. I would like to know if there are any antivirus exclusions that have to be in place for the CAVA.EXE process or otherwise any other components of Celerra that are required. Also any advise on how to investigate the high utilization by this process are much appreciated.

Regards, P.

Hello Petko

First of all I would suggest you to stop the CAVA service so that you do not face performance issue. I will check on my end if there is any known issue or any exclusion needs to be done on Celerra side.

Please feel free to post if anything else looks suspitious, in the mean time I will try to find some help for you . Please refer to the below mention command to stop the cava service.

server_setup server_2 -Protocol viruschk -o stop

Thanks

Samir
