Backend celerra migration from DMX to VMAX
Hi
I have a celerra NSX running 5.6.47-11. We have a DMX-3 attached with it. We need to migrate the backed attached DMX-3 array to a VMAX. I do know that we can do this migration using a celerra replicator, but my concern here is since we are going to remove the old DMX completely all the root file system (celerra root files) resides on the existing system pool. If i do a migration of the existing file system from the system pool this does not mean the root filesystem also copies to the new pool. Also the new pool will be a user defined pool and not the system pool so I am sure that the root file system will not be changed. Can someone let me know how to do this effectively. Please also suggest the best way to do this migration.

Hi,
sounds like you also need to migrate the system LUNs where the Celerra is booting from.
Please work with EMC professional services on an appropriate procedure for your config

I understand but how can we do that? is this similar like celerra
replicator or I need to do the it in OR (open replicator) but that does
not make my system pool. please advice.
Thanks,

Data mover root file systems and the system control LUNs cannot be moved using Replicator or OR
Professional Services uses different tools there

This sounds like we have to go in for Professional services since there
is no other option.
Thanks,
