Add storage pool for file
I have 3 pools defined on my VNX5300 called pool0, pool1 and pool2. Pool 0 and 1 use a combination of SAS and NL-SAS drives. Pool 2 is only NL-SAS. Originally a "storage pool for file" was set up as a mapped pool to pool2. This was where I originally wanted to place my CIFS servers because of the type of data that would be present. However, now I have the need to have a CIFS server that points to a LUN on pool1.
I was thinking that I needed to define a mapped pool to pool 1 as well but I can't do this because I get the message "The storage system doesn't have a template pool that contains any available space.
What steps do I need to go through to get this defined?
Please help.
Thanks.

Hello Snowmizer
A storage pool is a container which holds similar type of disks which has similar RAID configuration. So if you want to create create CIFS share from a specific storage pool then you have to use similar kind of disks with similar raid configuration.
for further refrence you can check document on powerlink.
After logging in to Powerlink, go to Support >Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/PlatformsDocumentation > Celerra Network Server
"Managing EMC Celerra Volumes and File Systems with Automatic Volume Management"
Thanks
