2 interfaces and 1 record A in DNS
Hi,
I have cifs server with 2 interfaces which created 2 records A in DNS. I want to have only 1 record A.
Is it possible ?
I don't want to disable dynamic DNS updates for other cifs server.
Thanks

Hi,
I dont think this can be done, the DNS server would not support 2 ipaddress/interface with single host record.

Sameer,
you can create many records A in DNS with the same name and different IP addresses. Cellera does it automatically by default if you assign many interfaces to cifs server.

yes, you can create many records for a same host but if i have understood your requirement right here, you wanted to have single host record with multiple interfaces. am i correct ?

I have CIFS server FS01 with 2 interfaces:
cge-1-0: 192.168.0.50
cge-1-1: 192.168.100.50
There are 2 records A in DNS (created automatically).
I want to have only 1 record FS01=192.168.0.50.
I deleted the record A (192.168.100.50) but it was re-created
automatically next day.
