dell poweredge vrtx
I need some advice please. I have a Dell Poweredge VRTX with 2*M520 blade servers. The VRTX has 2*CMC controllers, but the chassis does not boot up. The active CMC has an orange and green indicators, and the passive has blue and green. I have removed the old active CMC and moved the passive CMC to the active position, but the indicators stay blue and green, but chassis still does not boot. Must the VRTX still boot or does the CMC need configuration 1st.
Thanks

NicoUng,
The CMC showing green and blue is just indicating it is receiving power (green) and that it is the active CMC (blue). As far as the other CMC, the amber is reflective of a fault, and again the green is indicating power presence. Now for testing purposes, if you remove the amber and green CMC from the enclosure, as well as the blades, does the enclosure then power up? If so, then I would try installing the amber and green CMC again and see if the issue reappears, which identifies the failed CMC as the issue. If that doesn't reproduce the issue then you can also test each blade individually as well to see if they are causing the issue.
Lastly, if you are able to power it on at some point, what errors are you seeing in the logs?
Let me know if this helps and what you see.
