Windows File/Folder backups and SQL backups of the same physical server

Where we have a couple of legacy physical SQL servers we are using Avamar to perform SQL and Windows file/folder level backups, however it seems that the regular SQL transaction log backups are queuing behind the Windows filesystem backup each night and not running until the filesystem backup has completed.

Is there any way to bypass this behaviour, allowing both backups to run at the same time - perhaps have multiple instances of the Avamar client installed, one that runs SQL backups and one that runs the Windows backups?
