VSS backup without BMR take a long time to complete
I'm facing this issue on Windows 2012 R2 x64 machine. This is a Domain controller and I'm trying to take two set of backups.
1. FS and VSS with BMR
2. VSS without BMR
Both these sets are scheduled at different time. When I run the backup of this server (VSS without BMR first) the job just keep on running without any progress bytes displayed on admin console.
I googled and found out that Windows 2012 R2 needs a HF to be installed. I installed that hotfix by replacing avtar with the new avtar and then I restarted backup agent.
However it has still not fixed the issue. Any clue on what could be the cause of this?

Hello,
There is not enough information supplied and the question is too general to approach a performance issue.
Searching https://support.emc.com for "Avamar client performance" is a good start. There are a lot of knowledge base articles that can help you narrow down and better define the issue. Start with https://support.emc.com/kb/335209
Particularly for the difference between Avamar VSS backup for Active Directory Domain Controller that take longer than a regular VSS backups used for BMR check this https://support.emc.com/kb/514283
Hope that help
